Labor and Birth Care

Have the birth of your dreams in the comfort of your own home with a certified professional midwife team. Your midwife is on-call for you beginning at 37 weeks and will remain on-call until you have your baby. If you go into labor prior to 37 weeks, or after 42 weeks, your midwife will accompany you to the hospital where a hospital practitioner will care for you during your labor and birth.

During labor and birth your midwife can do a lot of the same things the hospital can. If you need or desire an IV or antibiotics your midwife can give those to you right in the comfort of your own home. With home birth you sacrifice nothing. Midwives carry the same medications as the hospital, plus are very skilled in herbal and homeopathic remedies.

When it came time, I had my baby where and how I felt most comfortable without people telling me when and how to push or otherwise distracting me from what I was doing.

In the case of pregnancy, labor, and delivery one needs a midwife who is calm and collected and who helps you birth without fear. Clarissa definitely did that! As a first time mother I was expecting my first delivery to be fairly long. But when Clarissa arrived and I was already wanting to push we knew things would be much quicker. Even though she needed to act quickly in getting things set up she was very calm and did not make me feel worried at all. She stayed by my side and coached me into different positions. My sweet girl was delivered in a peaceful environment do to Clarissa's gentle work.

My husband and I interviewed Clarissa to be our midwife with our third. Clarissa was able to answer our questions with confidence and knowledge. She put my hubby’s concerns to rest. We love having Clarissa as our midwife. I love that she gives complete information and options so you can make good informed decisions for your care as well as the care of your baby. I’m so thankful for Clarissa and the services she provides. We are uninsured and she is flexible as well as affordable! She has been a blessing to our family!
